Antalis Packaging adds 3M Matic case sealers to end-of-line automation portfolio

The addition means Antalis can now supply a full system for case sealing.

UK – Antalis Packaging has expanded its end-of-line automation offering with the addition of the 3M Matic Case Sealing range, strengthening its ability to deliver fully integrated case handling systems to UK manufacturers and distributors.

The move enables Antalis to supply complete case sealing solutions, covering machinery, interchangeable taping heads and compatible tapes.

The addition is aimed at helping customers streamline manual processes, improve throughput and enhance sealing consistency in high-volume operations.

The 3M Matic line, developed by 3M, is designed to reduce manual taping tasks and deliver reliable performance at higher line speeds.

Adjustable models are suited to operations handling uniform box sizes, while random models accommodate variable carton dimensions, an increasingly common requirement in e-commerce and mixed-SKU fulfilment environments.

Among the systems now available through Antalis is the Random Case Sealer 7000r Pro / 7000r3 Pro, which automatically adjusts to different box heights and widths and can process up to 24 cases per minute.

For standardized box runs, the Adjustable Case Sealer 7000a Pro / 7000a3 Pro supports interchangeable taping heads and achieves throughputs of up to 40 cases per minute.

The portfolio also includes the fully automatic Case Sealer 8000af / 8000af3, capable of sealing both top and bottom flaps.

Built with welded steel construction and integrated safety components, the system is designed for demanding industrial environments and can handle up to 40 cases per minute.

3M brings more than five decades of experience in case sealing equipment, a factor Antalis says adds credibility and long-term reliability to the expanded machinery lineup.

The introduction comes as manufacturers face rising labour costs and increasing pressure to boost operational efficiency.

Automation at the end of the packaging line, particularly in case erecting and sealing, has become a priority investment area for food, beverage, personal care and industrial goods producers seeking to maintain output while reducing manual handling.

Steve Marples, category manager at Antalis Packaging, said businesses reviewing capital expenditure ahead of the new financial year should assess opportunities to upgrade end-of-line processes.

He noted that early investment in automated case sealing equipment can deliver productivity gains and cost efficiencies more quickly.

In addition to case sealers, Antalis offers case erectors, enabling customers to implement a fully integrated solution spanning box forming through to final sealing, positioning the distributor as a single-source supplier for automated case handling systems.
