AUSTRALIA – KIEFEL, a manufacturer specializing in the production of machinery for polymer and natural fiber processing, has recently unveiled its latest innovation, the SPEEDFORMER KMD 78.2 Premium steel rule-cutting machine.
This cutting-edge equipment is specifically designed for the efficient production of polymer thermoformed packaging, offering the most favorable price-performance ratio available in the market.
The present solution exhibits superior speed and accuracy in comparison to its predecessor, the KMD 78.1 Premium. The product introduces novel functionalities that enhance the efficiency of tray, container, hinged box, pallet, blister, lid, and technical application product manufacturing for customers.
According to Armin Dietrich, the Global Director of the Polymer Packaging Division at Kiefel, the KMD 78.2 Premium not only provides improved performance capabilities but also enables seamless and efficient tool changes. This feature allows for smooth transition of film between production runs, ultimately optimizing machine utilization.
“Based on feedback from our clientele, this particular machine has been deemed the top-performing option within its respective market segment.”
The newly developed machine for polymer packaging production retains the same forming area as its predecessor. However, it is now equipped with an enhanced vacuum and forming air system, as well as more robust servodrives for the forming, punching, and cutting stations.
This heightened capability facilitates a more rapid rate of production, allowing for up to 45 cycles per minute and consequently yielding higher output.
The KMD 78.2 Premium offers several significant advantages, including its established track record of high performance and effective process control. These benefits are attained by employing servomotor drives for tables, plug assist, film transport, and the stacking pusher.
This state-of-the-art technology, in conjunction with its enhanced heater-bank response time, facilitates enhanced accuracy and effectiveness throughout the manufacturing process, resulting in the production of superior-quality goods.
The updated KMD 78.2 Premium model presents customers with the prospect of attaining enhanced production speeds through the utilization of its faster Pick&Place Inline mechanism.
An additional drive for the A/B-Ejector servo is also offered. The Pick & Place Inline system described here is a dual stacking system that allows for the effective utilization of an already existing upstacking tool.
Additionally, the HMI (Human Machine Interface) of the product is designed to be user-friendly, featuring a large touch screen and dependable functionality, which facilitates effortless operation. Furthermore, the enhanced lubrication system and supplementary diagnostic features contribute to the ease of machine maintenance.
In August, Kiefel unveiled the SOLUTIONPERFORMER KFS, a cutting-edge iteration of Form-Fill-Seal machinery designed specifically for the production of medical and pharmaceutical polyolefin bags.
With the implementation of the new machine, the system is capable of fully automated formation, filling, and sealing of up to 6,000 infusion, parenteral nutrition, or dialysis bags per hour.
The system is offered in a variety of formats, encompassing a compact basic version suitable for standard applications, as well as customizable solutions designed to meet specific individual requirements.
“The SOLUTIONPERFORMER represents a novel generation of a modular and meticulously coordinated machine concept,” asserts Thorsten Emge, the Global Director of Medical & Pharma at Kiefel.
“Boasting an exceptional price-performance ratio, this product successfully fulfills the stringent demands of our esteemed clientele in terms of output, efficiency, and bag quality.”
The KFS line is capable of manufacturing, filling, and sealing the bag using a single machine. Depending on the configuration of the machine and the size of the bags, the basic version has the capability to automatically equip and fill more than 4,500 bags per hour.
