Etiplast enhances production with new Flexo Press

The press is configured with solvent units for inline lamination, allowing for added flexibility and value in their output.

USA – Etiplast, has acquired a Nilpeter FA-22 flexographic press to expand its production capabilities and meet growing demand in Central America’s flexible packaging market.

For over 30 years, Etiplast has supplied flexible packaging materials, and this investment strengthens its ability to serve existing clients while exploring new opportunities.

The Nilpeter FA-22, known for its advanced automation and high-quality printing, is tailored for flexible packaging.

According to the company, the press will primarily produce coffee bags, a key product in the region, using solvent units for inline lamination.

Etiplast also plans to enter the shrink sleeves market with white ink solvent capabilities. While the press can handle label production, the focus remains on flexible packaging.

Currently, Etiplast operates two Nilpeter FA-14 presses at high capacity, mainly producing tape for the agroindustrial sector.

The new FA-22 will take on part of this workload, freeing up the FA-14s for increased label production.

“We’re always looking to offer our customers more flexibility, efficiency, and consistency,” said Adolfo Madrigal, Etiplast’s operations manager.

The FA-22, set to start operations later this year, will help meet these goals.

In a statement, Nilpeter announced it will showcase its FA-Line, including the FA-22, at Labelexpo Europe 2025, scheduled for September 16–19 in Barcelona, Spain.

The event will feature live demonstrations of flexo, digital, and hybrid presses, highlighting advancements in sustainable printing technologies.

In related news, a recent report highlighted that Labelgrafic, a Spanish packaging company, also invested in a Nilpeter FA-17 press to enter the flexo printing market.

This US$1.2 million investment, completed in May 2025, allows Labelgrafic to produce high-quality labels for various sectors, responding to similar market demands as Etiplast.

The company collaborated with Esagraf for efficient installation and training, enabling rapid integration of the new technology.

Etiplast’s investment comes as the global flexible packaging market continues to grow, driven by demand for sustainable and efficient solutions.

The FA-22’s automation reduces setup times and enhances precision, supporting Etiplast’s goal to deliver consistent quality.

With coffee bags and shrink sleeves as initial focus areas, the company is poised to capture new market segments while maintaining its leadership in agroindustrial tape production.
