HP, Syntax launch digital innovation center to drive printing transformation in China

The center will enhance support for the region’s label and flexible packaging industries.

CHINA – HP has partnered with its long-standing distributor Syntax to open a state-of-the-art Digital Innovation Center at Weikang Technology Innovation Park in Guangzhou’s Panyu District.

The 1,500-square-meter facility is equipped with HP Indigo 6K, Indigo 200K, and other PWI digital printing systems, serving as a regional hub for demonstrations, technical training, and sample proofing.

It aims to strengthen localized service and support for converters, brand owners, and printers across southern China.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Haim Levit, senior vice president and division president of HP Industrial Print, described the center as a cornerstone of HP’s long-term strategy in China.

“This 1,500 sqm facility is more than just a building; it embodies our shared vision for the future of digital printing in China, a future fueled by innovation, collaboration, and sustainable growth,” said Levit.

“Since HP Indigo entered China in 2002, we have worked closely with local partners to redefine how brands, converters, and printers connect with consumers through digital transformation.”

Jonathan Liu, president of Syntax, highlighted the growing impact of HP Indigo’s technology.

“The global installed base of HP digital printing equipment has now surpassed 9,000 units,” he noted.

“HP’s technology addresses key needs such as short-run production, customization, and rapid delivery, while enabling added value, like 3D printing, that traditional processes cannot achieve. We aim to help local customers harness these advancements to stay ahead in a competitive market.”

During the event, representatives from HP Indigo, Factory18, Hybrid Software, and Kurz Scribos shared insights on digital workflow optimization and automation across the value chain.

Live demonstrations of the HP Indigo 6K and 200K presses drew more than 100 guests, showcasing capabilities in color management, print performance, and workflow efficiency.

The event also saw six new contracts signed, including deals with Fly Digital, a subsidiary of CWL Packaging, and Shenzhen Shunxinchang, which invested in its fifth HP Indigo press.

Looking ahead, HP plans to debut its Indigo 6K+ at Labelexpo Asia 2025, where it will present a fully integrated digital pouch production line, linking the Indigo 200K with Sinomech DigiLam solvent-free laminators and King-Mo bag-making machinery, underscoring HP’s commitment to sustainable, end-to-end digital packaging solutions in the region.
