UK — Innovia Films, a global producer of BOPP films and a leader in material science innovation, has been recognized as a Champion of Fespa UK’s Waste Accreditation Program, underscoring its commitment to sustainable film production and circular waste management in the graphics sector.
As a long-standing supplier of PVC-free polypropylene films, Innovia Films provides converters and brand owners with high-performance, environmentally responsible substrates.
All films for the graphics market are manufactured at its facility in Wigton, Cumbria, reinforcing the company’s focus on local production, reduced transport emissions, and secure, UK-based supply chains.
“Becoming a Fespa UK Champion is an important milestone in our sustainability journey,” said Pieter du Plessis, market development manager – graphics at Innovia Films.
“We are proud to collaborate with Fespa UK and our industry peers to drive a transparent, circular approach to polypropylene film recycling in the UK. Together, we can make a measurable difference in building a more sustainable future for our sector.”
Under the Waste Accreditation Program, Innovia Films will strengthen circularity efforts across the graphics industry by ensuring full accountability and traceability of waste generated from its self-adhesive polypropylene films.
End-of-life materials collected from customers will be responsibly returned to the Wigton site for reprocessing.
The program also offers quarterly reporting to track handled volumes, participating customers, and recycling projections, while accredited partners manage logistics, financial arrangements, and waste handling for a seamless customer experience.

Innovia Films joins a growing list of print and packaging suppliers strengthening their circularity commitments.
Earlier this year, Brett Martin expanded its take-back scheme for PVC-free substrates across the UK and Ireland, ensuring offcuts and end-of-life sheets are recycled into new product grades.
Meanwhile, 3M’s Graphics Materials division rolled out enhanced recoverability guidelines and partnerships to help printers responsibly manage liner and film waste.
Additionally, Avery Dennison boosted adoption of its CleanFlake and AD Circular programs, with converters increasingly returning spent liners and film waste for reprocessing.
“Innovia Films’ commitment to local manufacturing and end-of-life responsibility sets a powerful example for the industry,” du Plessis added.
With sustainability accelerating across the graphics value chain, the company’s recognition as a Fespa UK Champion positions it as a key driver in establishing a more circular and accountable future for polypropylene film recycling in the UK.
