Kyocera South Africa strengthens production print drive with Vanessa Richardson appointment.

SOUTH AFRICA – Kyocera Document Solutions South Africa (Pty) Ltd has appointed Vanessa Richardson as production sales specialist, a move that underscores the company’s strategy to expand its production print portfolio in an industry rapidly reshaped by digitalization and sustainability.
Richardson brings more than 20 years of expertise in the print and finishing sectors.
She began her career in photographic printing, spending over a decade with Foto First and Qphoto, where she developed a deep understanding of high-volume, quick-turnaround environments.
Her career later advanced at Arctec (Pty) Ltd, a leading supplier of equipment for print, packaging, and automation.
Rising from marketing assistant to general manager, she spearheaded national sales strategies and product development, building a reputation for customer-focused, end-to-end solutions.
This consultative approach, centred on tailored and sustainable offerings, fits neatly with Kyocera’s philosophy.
In her new role, Richardson will help clients deploy Kyocera’s flagship production technologies, such as the TASKalfa Pro 15000c inkjet digital press and Nixka sustainable inkjet systems.
Acquired by Kyocera in 2023, Nixka strengthens its footprint in packaging, commercial print, and industrial applications by enabling high-speed, low-waste output.
“I’m excited by the opportunity to provide companies with solutions that fit their actual applications,” Richardson said.
“I believe in being honest and transparent, I won’t sell a solution that doesn’t work for the customer’s specific needs. That’s how we build trust and long-term relationships.”
Heidie-Mari Middel, production print team lead at Kyocera South Africa, welcomed the appointment, noting, “Vanessa brings a valuable mix of technical knowledge, hands-on experience, and customer focus.
“Her ability to guide clients through the entire production process will strengthen our offering and deliver real value.”
South Africa’s print sector is valued at around R55 billion and employs over 54,000 people. Research from Grand View Research estimates the commercial print segment will reach US$3.1 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 3.7%.
Within this, digital printing leads growth at 6.2% CAGR, driven by demand for short-run, customized jobs in packaging, advertising, and publishing.
Despite persistent challenges such as power shortages and digital disruption, opportunities lie in automation and eco-friendly inkjet technologies, areas where Kyocera has invested heavily.
Richardson’s appointment reflects Kyocera’s determination to capture market share in this dynamic sector, aligning technical expertise with the industry’s shift toward sustainable, future-ready print solutions.
