Effective immediately, Raymond Baran has been appointed Interim CEO

USA – Maxcess International, a key player in web handling solutions for the packaging sector, has undergone a swift leadership change.
Odd Joergenrud has stepped down as chief executive officer, effective right away, after serving in the role since 2019.
Under Joergenrud’s guidance, Maxcess completed the merger with RotoMetrics, which expanded its capabilities in die-cutting and flexible packaging tools.
He also oversaw the addition of two strategic business acquisitions that broadened the firm’s market reach.
Efforts ramped up on new product development, resulting in tools designed to cut waste and improve efficiency in label and flexible packaging production.
According to a company statement, these moves helped Maxcess deliver more reliable solutions to converters worldwide.
Joergenrud expressed gratitude for the opportunity in a brief note.
“Leading Maxcess has been a rewarding chapter, marked by team successes in innovation and growth,” he said.
The outgoing CEO plans to explore new ventures, while the board extended thanks for his steady hand through complex integrations.
Raymond Baran now serves as interim CEO, drawing on his deep ties to the Berwind Group, Maxcess’s owner since 2018.
Over 26 years with Berwind, Baran has taken on various leadership posts across its portfolio companies.
Since the acquisition, he has collaborated frequently with Maxcess executives on operational matters. In his new capacity, Baran will guide the transition and set operational priorities.
“I am eager to support the Maxcess team in maintaining momentum on customer-focused advancements,” Baran remarked.
Maxcess emphasized continuity in a prepared release. The firm remains dedicated to high-performance products for sustainable packaging lines, including tension controls and slitting systems that minimize material loss.
Details on a permanent CEO search were not disclosed.
This comes at a time when the sector pushes for greener practices amid rising demand for recyclable labels.
Adding to recent developments, Maxcess recently displayed fresh technologies at Labelexpo Europe 2025 in Barcelona last month.
Highlights included the RotoMetrics RotoScan Adjustable Anvil, an intelligent system that tracks die performance to reduce downtime, and the EcoPrint Print Cylinder, a cost-effective option aimed at lowering production expenses without sacrificing quality.
The Tidland SmartSlit automated narrow web system also drew attention for its safety features and precision, potentially cutting scrap rates in flexible packaging runs.
With Baran at the forefront, the company eyes steady progress in a market projected to grow through enhanced automation.
