SPL aims to strengthen its position in the growing global demand for sustainable, high-performance packaging films.

INDIA – Satyendra Packaging Ltd (SPL) is expanding its production capacity with the installation of a second 10.4-meter BOPP (biaxially oriented polypropylene) film line from German machinery giant Brückner Maschinenbau.
The new five-layer, high-speed line mirrors SPL’s first BOPP line and is designed to produce specialty packaging films for both domestic and export markets.
With this investment, SPL aims to strengthen its position in the growing global demand for sustainable, high-performance packaging films across food, consumer goods, and industrial sectors.
“I am grateful that Satyendra and Brückner are collaborating on another project,” said Johann Kreilinger, Head of Sales for the Middle East, Subcontinent & Africa at Brückner Maschinenbau.
“Satyendra’s trust in our technology reinforces our shared commitment to innovation, efficiency, and sustainability in film production.”
Headquartered in Anand, Gujarat, Satyendra Packaging operates one of India’s most advanced film production facilities, supported by state-of-the-art equipment, quality control systems, and research capabilities.
The company has steadily built an international presence, with branches in Dubai and West Africa, and a market reach spanning more than five countries.
In India, SPL maintains distribution and service branches across nearly all states, ensuring strong local market penetration.
The new BOPP line is expected to boost output capacity, shorten lead times, and enable SPL to deliver customized film solutions that meet diverse customer needs in packaging and labeling applications.
Rising demand for BOPP films
The investment comes at a time when the global BOPP film market is witnessing strong growth, driven by increasing demand for lightweight, recyclable, and high-barrier films.
India remains a major production hub, supplying both domestic converters and international packaging companies.
According to industry analysts, India’s BOPP film capacity is expanding by more than 8% annually, supported by investments from local players such as Jindal Poly Films, Cosmo Films, and Uflex.
Satyendra’s second line positions it competitively within this fast-evolving market.
The company’s expansion also aligns with the industry’s shift toward circular economy practices, as BOPP films are increasingly being redesigned for recyclability and downgauging to minimize material use. With its latest investment, Satyendra Packaging continues to solidify its reputation as a forward-looking manufacturer committed to technological excellence, sustainability, and global competitiveness.
