SIG InnoVentures, Optima join PulPac’s owner group to accelerate fiber-based packaging revolution

This move builds upon PulPac’s existing partnership with Optima, which was formalized in September 2024.

SWEDEN – PulPac, the Swedish innovator behind Dry Molded Fiber technology, has announced the addition of two major players to its ownership structure: SIG InnoVentures and Optima.

This strategic investment not only expands PulPac’s existing group of shareholders but also signals strong industry confidence in the company’s scalable, sustainable alternative to single-use plastics.

PulPac’s patented Dry Molded Fiber technology uses renewable cellulose to produce high-performance packaging with significantly lower environmental impact.

The method is designed to be energy-efficient and water-saving, offering a viable path away from fossil-based packaging.

“Over the past year, we’ve achieved significant progress with our technology, expanding its range of applications and opening new possibilities that have attracted major players seeking scalable, eco-friendly solutions across additional packaging categories,” said Linus Larsson Green, CEO of PulPac.

“Having SIG and Optima come on board as shareholders strengthens our capacity to meet this demand. SIG, with its extensive range of packaging solutions, has the reach to create a significant market shift, while Optima’s expertise in packaging and bespoke machinery for Dry Molded Fiber helps us accelerate the implementation of our technology on a global scale.”

This move builds upon PulPac’s existing partnership with Optima, which was formalized in September 2024.

That collaboration focuses on scaling up fiber-based caps and closures—a critical packaging segment that has been difficult to decarbonize.

Together, the partners aim to offer brands and manufacturers cost-effective, high-performance alternatives to single-use plastics, particularly in sectors such as food, beverage, and personal care.

The inclusion of SIG InnoVentures also marks a notable step for PulPac. As an investor with deep industry insight and a track record in backing transformational packaging innovations, SIG’s involvement is expected to provide both market access and strategic guidance as PulPac gears up for global implementation.

PulPac continues to position itself at the forefront of sustainable packaging, leveraging the potential of cellulosic fibers to replace plastics at scale.

With the addition of SIG and Optima to its ownership group, the company is better equipped than ever to drive systemic change in the packaging industry—offering scalable, responsible, and commercially viable solutions for a circular economy.
