NORTH AMERICA – US-based packaging company TricorBraun has signed an exclusive agreement with turn-key sustainable solutions provider BioBottles to provide biodegradable bottles to nutraceutical companies in the US and Canada.
Utilizing proprietary technology, BioBottles are an environmentally responsible and cost-effective alternative for nutraceutical and pharmaceutical packaging needs.
An industry-first, BioBottles with Plastic IQ™ technology turns ordinary HDPE and PP bottles, caps, and scoops into a material that is no longer plastic at the end of its useful life when exposed to an open environment, in the right conditions.
Mark O’Bryan, chief operations officer, TricorBraun said: “Sustainability matters to our customers and their consumers, and it matters to TricorBraun.
“Our exclusive BioBottles agreement is another example of our focused efforts to offer comprehensive, sustainable options for our customers.
“We are thrilled to partner with BioBottles to provide our customers with a solution that helps protect both their products and the planet.”
TricorBraun’s agreement with BioBottles is said to be the latest development in the former’s ongoing journey in sustainability as well as its continuous efforts to enhance its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) impact.
BioBottles CEO and co-founder James Vanbrocklin said: “TricorBraun shares our dedication and commitment to providing sustainable packaging options for the benefit of the planet.
“We are excited to partner with a respected industry leader like TricorBraun to deliver this unique yet sustainable alternative for nutraceutical companies—and we look forward to working with TricorBraun to expand into new markets.”
Better Earth partnership
Meanwhile, TricorBraun has signed an exclusive supply agreement with Symphony Environmental’s US distributor, Better Earth.
TricorBraun, which sold over eight billion containers in 2022, will support Better Earth’s exclusive agreement with a sales and marketing campaign in the US and Canada. No financial details were given.
Symphony chief executive Michael Laurier said: “Working with partners such as Better Earth and, by extension, with global packaging leader TricorBraun, Symphony is well placed to capture a share of the US and Canadian bottle markets, with additional verticals in the bottle market still available to target.”
Symphony entered into an exclusive two-year d2w supply contract with Better Earth in February last year, and a supplementary supply contract extending the product scope to nutraceutical products and expanding authorized geographies to include Canada was entered into in November 2022.
The company is a specialist in technologies that make plastic and rubber products smarter, safer and more sustainable.
