OMET’s Cold Foil Saver technology selectively applies foil only where the design requires it, cutting consumption by more than half.

EGYPT – Cellopack has chosen to install the first OMET iFlex 440 press in Egypt, a ten-colour LED machine with Cold Foil Saver technology that reduces foil use by more than 50% for multi-layer label production.
The iFlex 440 is a new version of the platform, previously offered in a 370mm web width. The 440mm model adds a wider format and higher output capacity, allowing Cellopack to serve larger label runs without upgrading to a different press class.
The ten-colour configuration enables complex label designs, including spot colours, varnishes, and cold foil, in a single pass, reducing setup time and material waste compared to running multiple passes on a narrower press.
The configuration also includes self-wound lamination, the Peel & Seal system for multi-layer labels, and the easy-change die-cut (ECDC) die-cutting unit.
Cold Foil Saver: Less Waste, Same Impact
Traditional cold foil application covers the entire web area with foil, even where no foil is needed, wasting expensive material.
OMET’s Cold Foil Saver technology selectively applies foil only where the design requires it, cutting consumption by more than half.
For a label converter running high-volume foil jobs, the savings in foil cost alone can justify the press investment within months.
The LED curing system consumes less energy than conventional UV lamps, with longer lamp life and no ozone emissions.
Built for the Future
The machine is set up for possible future installation of a digital bar for variable data printing, including short-run work.
This hybrid readiness allows Cellopack to add inkjet print bars for serialisation, QR codes, or personalised text without replacing the press.
As brand owners demand versioned packaging, different languages, regional promotions, or track-and-trace codes, analogue-only presses become constraints.
The iFlex 440’s upgrade path keeps the press relevant as market requirements shift.
A Family Business Going Global
Cellopack began as a family-owned business and now has 380 employees, working in coating and converting self-adhesive materials and supplying printers across Africa, the Middle East, and Mediterranean countries.
Managing director Mohamed Hamza explained that after careful examination of the printing presses available on the market, Cellopack chose the new iFlex 440 for its outstanding print quality, the strong reputation of the manufacturer as an industry leader, and the reliability of service and support provided over more than 60 years.
