Anchor Packaging operates four manufacturing facilities in Arkansas.

USA – Atlanta-based packaging giant Georgia-Pacific has completed its acquisition of Anchor Packaging, a leading U.S. manufacturer of rigid food containers and cling film, strengthening its footprint in the growing foodservice and retail packaging segments.
The transaction, first announced in September 2025, closed following regulatory approvals. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Under the deal, Georgia-Pacific acquired all equity interests in Anchor Packaging, including shares held by investors led by New York-based private equity firm TJC (formerly The Jordan Company), which had been the company’s lead investor since 2019.
Anchor Packaging operates four manufacturing facilities in Arkansas, located in Jonesboro, Marmaduke, and Paragould, and in Janesville, Wisconsin, supported by its headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri.
The company employs around 1,250 people, all of whom will join Georgia-Pacific as the business becomes a wholly owned subsidiary.
Fernando Gonzalez, president of Georgia-Pacific’s Foodservice Solutions business, welcomed the move, “We are very excited to welcome the talented employees of Anchor Packaging to our company.
“They, along with the quality assets, efficient operations, and excellent customer service model, provide a great platform for continued growth of our business.”
Anchor Packaging CEO Jeff Wolff added that the integration opens new opportunities for innovation and market expansion, “Together, we offer a larger product range, unique strengths, and a stronger supply chain. By working together, we aim to shape the future of foodservice packaging with passion, purpose, and high performance.”
The acquisition underscores Georgia-Pacific’s strategy to diversify and strengthen its packaging portfolio, especially as demand for sustainable, convenience-driven food packaging continues to grow across North America.
Anchor’s product mix, known for its reusable and recyclable polypropylene containers, aligns with Georgia-Pacific’s sustainability and innovation objectives.
The deal comes amid broader restructuring within Georgia-Pacific’s operations. In May 2025, the company announced plans to close its containerboard facility in Cedar Springs, Georgia, citing challenges in maintaining long-term competitiveness.
The closure, expected to affect around 535 employees, will be phased through August 2025.
Georgia-Pacific, part of Koch Industries, manufactures well-known consumer brands such as Angel Soft, Brawny, Dixie, Quilted Northern, Sparkle, and Vanity Fair.
With the addition of Anchor Packaging, the company is well positioned further to strengthen its position in the food packaging value chain, combining scale, innovation, and operational efficiency to serve an evolving market.
