IPS will distribute GEW’s range of UV curing systems across sheet-fed, label, and narrow web printing applications.

NORTH AFRICA — GEW, a leading manufacturer of UV curing systems for printing, coating, and converting applications, has appointed IPS for Chemical Trading and Printing Raw Materials as its exclusive distributor across Egypt, Libya, and Sudan.
The partnership, effective immediately, aims to bolster GEW’s footprint in Northeast Africa’s fast-evolving printing and packaging industry.
Founded in 2014 by the Sidhom family, IPS has earned a strong reputation as a trusted supplier of equipment and raw materials to the printing, packaging, and plastics sectors.
Now under the leadership of Ramy George, who brings over 15 years of business management experience, the Cairo-based company represents several global brands including Bobst, Riefenhäuser, and Rossini.
The new partnership allows IPS to distribute GEW’s range of UV curing systems across sheet-fed, label, and narrow web printing applications.
This move is expected to enhance local access to high-performance, energy-efficient UV curing technology, a growing demand as African converters and printers invest in modernizing production lines to meet sustainability and productivity goals.
George emphasized the shared vision between the two companies, stating, “We are aligned with GEW in so many ways.
“At IPS, we prioritize collaboration and long-term partnerships with our customers. Our service-led approach ensures reliability, innovation, and customer satisfaction, values that perfectly mirror GEW’s.”
David Lyus, GEW’s International Sales Manager, expressed confidence in the collaboration, noting, “IPS are ideally placed to develop GEW’s profile in this region. Their representation of Bobst flexo presses and other leading suppliers, along with a skilled technical team, provides a strong foundation to serve both existing and new customers.”
The partnership comes amid a growing shift in North Africa’s printing and packaging landscape, where investment in UV curing technology is accelerating.
UV systems, known for their low energy consumption, instant drying capabilities, and environmental benefits, are becoming a preferred choice for converters seeking high-speed and high-quality output.
By combining GEW’s globally recognized technology with IPS’s regional expertise and customer network, the partnership is set to strengthen after-sales service and technical support across Egypt, Libya, and Sudan, markets that are seeing increased industrial activity and demand for advanced printing solutions.
With this move, GEW continues its strategic expansion in Africa, reinforcing its commitment to supporting the region’s evolving printing industry with cutting-edge, sustainable solutions.
