The new training facility is designed to strengthen trainees’ skills in state-of-the-art aseptic PET operations,

USA – Sidel, a global leader in packaging solutions, launched a new Aseptic Training Center in Atlanta, USA, to meet the growing demand for specialized aseptic line expertise in the Americas.
The facility aims to improve workforce skills, boost productivity, and support customers in achieving operational goals through advanced training in aseptic PET operations.
The Atlanta center offers hands-on training using technical benches that mimic real-world production scenarios.
This setup allows trainees to practice maintenance and operations in a risk-free environment, minimizing disruptions to actual production lines.
According to Olivier Cocheril, VP of Asset Performance & Digital Services at Sidel, “This method enhances aseptic maintenance and operations skills while reducing reliance on on-the-job training.”
The approach helps trainees build confidence and efficiency without using live equipment, saving costs and eliminating risks.
The facility provides customized training programs tailored to various experience levels, ranging from two to 15 days.
Courses cover aseptic processing, equipment operation, maintenance, and food safety best practices, ensuring compliance with FDA and OSHA regulations.
A blended learning model combines expert-led instruction, hands-on practice, and digital modules, with a 30:70 theory-to-practice ratio. Trainees undergo pre- and post-assessments to measure progress.
Expanding global training reach
The Atlanta center complements Sidel’s existing aseptic training facilities in China, France, and Italy.
It also serves as a demonstration site for Sidel’s Aseptic Combi system, a solution for sensitive beverage packaging, and provides technical support for customers.
Training modules are designed for operators and maintenance technicians, focusing on real-case simulations to prepare them for operational challenges.
In a recent development, a report by Packaging World on September 1, 2025, highlighted a growing trend in the packaging industry toward localized training hubs to address skill shortages.
The report noted that companies like Sidel are investing in regional centers to enhance workforce capabilities, particularly in aseptic technologies, which are critical for extending shelf life and ensuring product safety in the beverage sector.
