he company won Best Packaging Innovation for its SIG Terra Alu-free + Full barrier packaging material.

UAE — Global packaging leader SIG has announced the successful sale of nine filling lines during the Gulfood Manufacturing 2025 exhibition, held from November 4–6 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
The milestone underscores SIG’s growing influence in the Middle East and its commitment to providing sustainable, efficient, and flexible packaging solutions for the food and beverage industry.
The new contracts reflect strong market confidence in SIG’s aseptic technology, which offers long shelf life for beverages and liquid foods without refrigeration or preservatives.
The company’s versatile filling lines allow manufacturers to switch seamlessly between product types, formats, and volumes, boosting flexibility and reducing operational costs.
Adding to its achievements at the event, SIG won the Best Packaging Innovation Award for its SIG Terra Alu-free + Full Barrier aseptic carton.
The groundbreaking material eliminates the traditional aluminum layer from full-barrier cartons, cutting CO₂ emissions by up to 61%, according to an independent ISO-compliant life cycle assessment for Europe (EU 27+3).
Despite its reduced carbon footprint, the packaging maintains up to 12 months of shelf life and remains fully compatible with SIG’s existing filling lines.
Abdelghany Eladib, President and General Manager, India, Middle East, and Africa at SIG, said, “We are pleased to announce the successful sale of nine filling lines at Gulfood Manufacturing, reflecting the strong demand for our sustainable and efficient packaging solutions.
“The Best Packaging Innovation Award for the SIG Terra Alu-free + Full Barrier further validates our success in delivering high-performance solutions that meet the evolving needs of the food and beverage industry.”
SIG’s immersive booth at the exhibition guided visitors through the end-to-end customer journey, featuring zones such as SIG Café (category innovation), SIG Supermarket (product assortment), and SIG On-the-Go (convenience formats).
The setup showcased the company’s consumer-centric approach, from concept to finished product.
The company also hosted SIG Talks, a series of expert-led discussions exploring industry trends such as sustainability, affordable nutrition, aseptic solutions for drinkable yogurt, and the rise of aseptic packaging in Western Africa.
In line with its focus on innovation, SIG revealed a partnership with Nutrition from Water (NXW) to develop algae-based protein beverages using SIG’s aseptic packaging technology, an initiative aimed at addressing nutritional gaps in emerging markets.
The dual success at Gulfood Manufacturing 2025 cements SIG’s leadership in sustainable packaging and its strategic commitment to driving the future of low-carbon, high-performance food and beverage solutions.
