Designed for high-volume operations, this next-generation model combines record-breaking speed with improved reliability

USA – Signode, the global transit packaging arm of Crown Holdings, introduced the Octopus Prestige stretch wrapper, targeting high-volume facilities with its emphasis on rapid operation and resource savings.
The machine, designed for demanding production lines, integrates advanced features to cut down on material waste while maintaining robust performance.
Jyri Lehtiö, Signode’s business development director, highlighted the wrapper’s practical advantages in a statement.
“The Octopus Prestige stretch wrapper is more than just fast, it’s smart, efficient, and built to last,” Lehtiö said.
He added that the design stemmed directly from customer input, addressing specific operational challenges in busy warehouses.
At the core of the Octopus Prestige lies its rotary ring technology, which drives wrapping speeds that enable facilities to handle greater throughput without delays in delivery timelines.
Operators benefit from a floor-level TopDown access system, allowing quick maintenance checks and repairs that keep downtime to a minimum.
The unit’s simplified mechanics require fewer sensors and adjustments compared to many competitors, directly contributing to higher machine availability during shifts.
The intuitive Navigator HM interface further streamlines daily tasks. With guided workflows and visual diagnostics, even new staff can start using it right away, reducing the need for extensive training sessions.
Customizable alerts and settings let technicians fine-tune operations on the fly, boosting overall output in fast-paced environments.
Signode emphasized the wrapper’s load stability, achieved through precise containment force applied evenly across the wrapping process.
This ensures secure palletizing for transport, minimizing damage risks. A key draw for eco-conscious users is the Double-S film carriage, which optimizes stretch film deployment to lower consumption rates.
The company noted that pairing the machine with its Mima Films lineup creates a seamless setup that cuts plastic use without sacrificing hold strength.
In April 2025, Verde Bioresins expanded its PolyEarthylene line of plant-based, biodegradable resins, offering a direct substitute for traditional petroleum films and supporting lower carbon emissions in wrapping applications.
Meanwhile, Amcor plans to showcase its Bontite stretch wrap at the Fachpack Expo in Nuremberg next week.
Bontite incorporates 30% post-consumer recycled content and stretches up to 300%, providing a lightweight alternative that trims material needs by significant margins.
Solutum Technologies delivered a biodegradable, high-tear stretch film to Pester Pac Automation, enhancing options for compostable pallet securing.
In Chile, ExxonMobil and Winpack rolled out a high-performance film with recycled content to meet extended producer responsibility goals.
At Packaging Innovations 2025 in the UK, Mondi displayed its Ad/Vantage Stretch Wrap, a barrier-enhanced paper-based range that extends shelf life while using fewer virgin materials.
Signode’s Octopus Prestige enters this evolving market with tangible gains in speed and film efficiency, equipping operators to meet rising demands for both productivity and environmental care.
With over 80 manufacturing sites and 7,000 employees worldwide, the company continues to shape transit solutions for global supply chains.
