Domino clinches first deal at Labelexpo Europe 2025 with Indian converter

This marks the first-ever sale of the Domino N730i digital label press in India.

INDIA – Domino has secured its first major sale at Labelexpo Europe 2025, announcing the purchase of its flagship N730i digital label press by a leading Indian converter on the show’s opening day.

The buyer, who operates two advanced facilities in western India and currently runs eight flexo presses, will reveal its identity following machine installation in December 2025.

The investment marks a significant step for the converter, which serves top-tier brands across industrial, lubricants, pharmaceutical, health, and beauty sectors, as it expands into digital printing for the first time.

With shorter runs, faster turnaround, and increasing demand for variable data printing, digital technology is seen as a critical growth enabler in India’s evolving packaging landscape.

The Domino N730i is a seven-color press offering 1200 DPI resolution and running speeds of up to 90 meters per minute.

Equipped with in-line priming and varnishing, the press is designed for short to medium runs, enabling converters to achieve both efficiency and premium print quality.

India’s label market, valued at over US$850 million in 2024 (Labelexpo data), is rapidly modernizing as converters increasingly adopt digital technologies to meet brand demands for customization, reduced waste, and faster product launches.

While flexo remains dominant, analysts predict double-digit annual growth for digital label printing in India through 2030, driven by the pharmaceutical, FMCG, and beauty industries.

Domino’s entry into one of the country’s leading converters highlights this ongoing shift.

Domino’s showcases at Labelexpo

Beyond the headline N730i deal, Domino is showcasing a full portfolio of digital solutions at Labelexpo Europe, including the N610i, the newly launched N410, and its K-Series monochrome printers.

The N610i-H, equipped with CMYK + White, in-line priming and varnishing, and integration with Esko’s Digital Front End, was explicitly designed for converters seeking to transition into digital.

Offering speeds of up to 50 m/min at 600 x 600 DPI resolution, it supports a wide range of substrates including self-adhesive labels, shrink sleeves, in-mold labels, and flexible packaging films.
