Launch of Canon’s LG-P800 and LX-D400 aims to strengthen digital label printing capabilities across Europe and the Middle East.

EMEA – Kanematsu Corporation has introduced Canon’s latest colour label printer models, the LG-P800 and LX-D400, to the European and Middle Eastern markets, expanding its digital label printing portfolio through its established distributor and partner network.
The launch is expected to strengthen access to high-performance on-demand label printing solutions for manufacturers across sectors including food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, logistics, chemicals and consumer goods, where demand for high-quality, short-run and customized labels continues to grow.
The LG-P800 is an 8-inch colour label printer designed to deliver high-resolution print quality using Canon’s new pigment ink technology.
The system supports a wide range of label substrates, enabling greater flexibility for packaging and labelling applications requiring durable, high-quality graphics.
Complementing the new offering is the LX-D400, a compact 4-inch model engineered for high-speed production.
The printer can produce labels at speeds of up to 330 mm per second and features a 4.3-inch touchscreen interface designed to improve ease of operation.
It also incorporates an adjustable top-of-form (TOF) sensor that accommodates die-cut labels of various shapes and sizes, enhancing production flexibility.
According to Kanematsu, both printer models are scheduled to become commercially available from August 2026.
The introduction builds on the company’s established presence in the industrial label printing market through its Swiftcolor brand. Leveraging its existing distribution network and market development initiatives, Kanematsu aims to accelerate the adoption of Canon’s latest printing technologies across Europe and the Middle East.
The launch reflects growing investment in digital printing technologies as packaging converters and manufacturers seek greater production flexibility, faster turnaround times and the ability to produce customized labels in shorter print runs.
Demand has been particularly strong in sectors requiring variable data printing, product traceability, multilingual labelling and rapid design changes.
Digital label printing is increasingly becoming a strategic tool for brand owners responding to evolving consumer preferences, stricter regulatory requirements and the expansion of e-commerce, where personalized packaging and efficient inventory management are gaining importance.
The latest product introduction also underscores continued innovation in the label printing sector, with equipment manufacturers focusing on higher print speeds, improved media compatibility and enhanced automation to support modern packaging operations.
As demand for premium-quality labels and shorter production cycles continues to rise, advanced digital printing systems are expected to play an increasingly important role in helping converters improve operational efficiency while delivering greater flexibility to customers.
